Sustainable Business Practices
This year we have embarked on a mission to incorporate sustainable business practices into our spa operations. We have partnered with Mass Energy Consumers Alliance a non-profit organization that will allow The Whole Body Spa to purchase electricity from non carbon generation sources. Our electricity will be coming from Hydro (74.7%), Biomass (24.4%), Solar (0.7%), and Wind (0.2%). This is a more expensive way to purchase electricity but it is our part to help reduce the effects of global climate change.
Small Steps
All our spa products are as natural and as organic as possible. They are paraben free, formaldehyde free and hypo-allergenic. Our new line of artesian The Whole Body Naturals bath products are made locally for us so we know only all natural ingredients are used. Our facility uses many floor and wall coverings that are environmentally responsible. Our cork flooring is harvested from tree bark and does not require killing any trees. The vinyl flooring in the spa therapies suite was chosen for its hypoallergenic and easy-cleaning features and the ceramic tiles in other areas are also easy-cleaning and very durable. The colors were chosen to create warmth and calm and the ochre colors in our fitness areas are said to inspire learning and positive thinking. All of this combined with room-by-room temperature control, three sound systems, EnergyStar appliances, and water-saving bath fixtures creates a people- friendly space. We also recycle or reuse every waste product, turn off electricity and practice waste conservation.
But what can you do?
