30-Minute Cardio and Strength combines intervals of resistance training with cardiovascular training. Burn fat and tone throughout the workout.
Strength Training builds muscle and strength, increase bone density, and stoke your metabolism working all major muscle groups. Focus will be on form and proper exercise execution using various modes of resistance work. Appropriate for beginner through advanced particpants
Tai-Chi Chuan (also taijiquan), which may be translated as Supreme Ultimate Fist, is a Chinese martial art that combines self defense with physical and mental fitness. It is practiced today primarily for its health benefits, stress relief, and relaxation, although interest in the martial application of the art is growing. The slow, continuous movements are designed to impart powerful physical skills and to stimulate the flow of energy within the body, with the ultimate goal of improved mind-body connection, and increased longevity. Tai Chi Chuan is excellent for health and balance while preserving its martial aspects which are learned through practice of the empty hand forms, weapon forms, push hands, fighting forms and free-form sparring.
Qi-Gong is a self-healing art that combines movement and meditation. Visualizations are employed to enhance the mind/body connection and assist healing. Regular practice of qigong can: prevent and treat illness, reduce stress - establish balance, integrate mind/body/spirit - bring peace
Mindfulness Meditation is an introduction to Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), based on the U Mass Medical Center model. In this program, the practice of mindfulness will be introduced through formal and informal meditation practices, including mindful hatha yoga. Home practice is requested for full benefit of this program. Recommended reading: Full Catastrophe Living: Using the Wisdom of Your Body and Mind to Face Stress, Pain, and Illness by Jon Kabat-Zinn.
6 Week Mindfulnees Eating Program
An enlightening program that will focus on increasing awareness on beliefs we have about ourselves, our bodies and food. This 6 week program will give you new tools for transforming your body, mind and spirit. You will learn to focus on mindfulness meditation, relaxation, visualization and mindfulness eating. Benefits of this program are: weight loss, stress reduction, clarity, increased body & mind awareness. This program will use elements of the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program from the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. |
